The matchmaker is an Xbox Live Gamer Profile named "G4TE dot com".

It is designed to be a way of new and old members finding each other. Many of us have 100 friends on our friends list, and struggle to make room for new members. Sometimes we will remove an established member from our personal friends lists so we can add a new member, only to find that new member disappears into the ether and is never seen again.
 
If you view the bio of the matchmaker, you will see this :
"The G4TE matchmaker is a tool to help new users easily find established users online. Our aim is to have 70 established and 30 new users in this list. All you have to do is click on 'G4TE dot com', view profile, "view friends" to see who is doing what online. established members are encouraged to check this list in between games, and invite newer members in to their lobby. New members can use this to find compatible gamers, send friends requests, and request invites to games sessions"
 
Established users.
The goal is for our established members to frequently use the matchmaker to search for new users and invite them in to games sessions. If you are happy and willing to do this, please send a friends request to "G4TE dot com".
 
New users.
The 30 newest members will receive a friends request from the matchmaker. Please make sure to make the most of it, and use "view friends" to find established members playing games you're interested in. Send a message to the member over XBL, asking if there is any room in the lobby. you will be surprised at how many welcoming replies you will receive. Every time a new member joins the G4TE, the oldest "new member" will be removed from the list. By the time you have cycled from the top to the bottom, if you have been using matchmaker you should have enough new friends to keep the momentum going.

So newer members should wait for an invite from the FF?  So should users like myself keep an eye out for a request, and then we view the friends of the FF, and thus find folks to play with?

Just wondering, I've only had a 360 for less than 2 months, so I'm still fuzzy on the workings of XBL.

Absolutely, Dno is correct. Fire away.

I was holding off from sending the FRs to new peeps, because having only just set it up a couple of hours ago there won't be a lot of people to see yet.  I didn't want them to go there and think "well!  this is crap!".  lol.  so as long as you understand it may take a few days to be more populated.  The last one constantly had 90+ members.

If this one is busy and popular, and if people want it, we can even add a second one.
